Princeton Women's Open Regatta

September 25 - 26, 2010

For the weekend of September 25-26th, Joan Boyle, Natalie Launchi, Erin MacCausland, and Jen Mislinski all traveled up to Raritan, NJ to sail the Princeton Women’s Regatta, which was hosted by Raritan Yacht Club on Raritan Bay. On Saturday, a fine breeze blew between 5-15 knots from WSW on the Bay for the seven women's teams, which included Upenn, Princeton, Fordham, Colombia, Queen’s, and Ocean County College. The young women sailors fought with the current and some choppy water to complete 8 races each in A and B divisions. The course was a windward-leeward twice around with a leeward gate. Overall, Joan and Natalie’s best finish included a 1st in A division, and Jen and Erin’s, a 2nd in B. On Sunday, there were 8-10 knots of wind from the north-northeast and we were able to complete 6 races. The Drexel women achieved a 4th place for the first women’s event of the season!  The girls would like to thank Joan and her family for hosting us for the weekend.
