Drexel Sailing Hires Coach Doug Brown
It is our pleasure to announce that the Drexel Sailing Team has hired Doug Brown as head coach.
A few of Doug's accomplishments: He is a US Sailing Level II sailing coach working toward his Level III. Recently he was head coach of the Monmouth Sailing Team (2007-2009) building the program into a competitive club team. He has a rich and diverse sailing background with national campaigns in several boats including Jet-14, Force 5, Sunfish, and Stars to name a few and an Olympic campaign in the Finn class. Doug continues as Director of Sailing at Pocono Lake Preserves, a position which he has held since 2005.
In addition to his sailing background, Doug has a very strong coaching background in hockey. He's been an active coach for 20 years at nearly every level, including pee-wee, college, and adult teams. Currently, Doug runs his own power skating program
Over the next couple weeks, the team officers and Rona will be working closely with Doug to transition into the head coach position. We look forward to a successful Fall 2010 season and many future seasons with Doug.
The officers thank those who helped in the selection process for your gracious support of the Drexel Sailing Team. For any questions, please contact the President, Jennifer Mislinski, at jmislinski@drexelsailing.com. Doug Brown can be reached at drxsailcoach@aol.com.
Sincerely,
The Drexel Sailing Team Officers
